Our One South Carolina Service Area
Lake Wylie sits on the South Carolina side of the lake, and it’s the only SC community on our list. We’re based in Mint Hill on the east side of Charlotte, so we’ll be straight with you: it’s a drive.
That doesn’t change how we work. Here’s what it does mean for you:
- Call early when you can. A morning call gives us the best chance of a same-day visit.
- Tell us as much as possible on the phone. The brand of opener, whether the springs are above the door or along the sides, a photo of the label. It helps us bring the right parts the first time.
- You get the same price-first approach you’d get anywhere else in our area.
If a part has to be ordered, we’ll tell you up front and schedule the return trip with you.

Humidity, Rust and Your Garage Door
Homes near the water deal with more moisture, and the garage feels it. Steel springs, hinges, rollers and the bottom brackets are where rust shows up first, and rust is hard on all of them.
A few habits help a door last longer:
- Lubricate the springs, hinges and roller bearings twice a year with a garage door lubricant, not a degreaser.
- Keep an eye on the bottom brackets and cables. Rust there is a safety issue, because they hold the door under spring tension.
- Replace a cracked or flattened bottom seal so water stops pooling along the bottom section.
If you’re seeing rust on the springs themselves, have them checked. Rusted coils rub against each other, wear faster and tend to fail without warning.

Close Your Garage Door From Your Phone
If this is a weekend place, or you’ve ever driven off and wondered whether you closed the garage, a smart opener is worth a look. As a LiftMaster Certified installer we put in myQ-enabled openers that let you open, close and check the door from your phone.
Some models also have a camera built into the opener, so you can see who’s in the garage when the door opens.
“We went with the Amarr metal door and LiftMaster opener with camera, keypad, and the myQ app for control via iPhone.”
Marcia W., Google review
See our opener installation page for more, or call and we’ll help you pick the right model for your door.

A Small Company That Stands Behind Its Work
Rise Up is owned by Adam Piana. He started it in 2016 after his mother was taken advantage of during a garage door spring replacement, and he’d already spent decades in home services, including as a locksmith, by then.
We’re not a national chain with a call center. You get the price before we start, a 12-month warranty on new residential torsion springs and a satisfaction guarantee on all of our work.
“We shopped around and he was the most fair on his price quote. Our door was done sooner than expected.”

Rise up was quick to respond and prompt with service. From the start Adam was kind, explained everything to me thoroughly, and was upfront about the pricing. I accidentally ran into my garage door and cracked the frame. He reinforced it in less than 30 mins and had it working like it was brand new! I am so thankful to him! They are very affordable as well and I will recommend them to all. Very happy with my service!Posted on Google![]()

Adam was very responsive when I asked him to come to my home to give me an estimate. Once I decided to go with him, her was able to do the work with in a week. Repaired/finished the install on an old Genie opener that had been under for 15 year. Installed a new Liftmaster opener on the 2nd door. Replaced all the wheels on both doors. Excellent work. Reasonable prices.Posted on Google![]()

I recently had the pleasure of working with Rise Up Garage Doors, and I couldn't be more satisfied with their service and the quality of the motor that was installed. From start to finish, the entire process was seamless and efficient. Adam was incredibly responsive, and quick to tend to our issue. He was punctual, professional and well prepared. He assessed the issue with my garage door swiftly and provided a clear explanation of the necessary repairs. We ended up needing a new motor as our was about 20+ years old and in bad shape to where our door wasn't opening any longer. He made sure we were fully informed about the work being done and the costs involved, which were very reasonable. The new motor is wonderful, we can barely hear the door open/close with all the key updates we needed. Overall, I highly recommend Rise Up Garage Doors for anyone in need of garage door services. Their fast, efficient, and professional approach sets them apart from the rest.Posted on Google![]()

Lake Wylie Garage Door FAQs
Do you really come out to Lake Wylie from Mint Hill?
Yes. It’s the farthest point in our service area, but it’s on our list on purpose. Calling earlier in the day gives us the best chance of getting there the same day.
Is there an extra charge because it's in South Carolina?
We’ll go over any service fee when you call, before anything is scheduled, so there are no surprises.
Why are my garage door springs and hinges rusting?
Moisture. Springs, hinges and tracks that never get lubricated rust faster in humid air. A light coat of garage door lubricant twice a year helps a lot. Heavy rust on a spring is a sign it’s getting close to the end.
Can I check my garage door from my phone?
With a myQ-enabled LiftMaster opener, yes. You can open, close and see whether the door is shut from anywhere, and some models have a camera built in.
Do you install new garage doors in Lake Wylie?
Yes. We’ll measure, walk you through styles and give you a free estimate.
Can you replace just the opener and keep my door?
Yes, as long as the door itself is balanced and in good shape. We check that first, because a new opener on a door with worn springs won’t last.
How long does a spring replacement take?
Most take under an hour once we’re there. If cables or rollers were damaged when the spring broke, it takes a little longer.
What if my spring breaks over the weekend?
We’re open Saturday from 9 to 2 and closed Sunday. Call anyway. If we can’t get there, we’ll tell you how to keep the door safe until we can.
