A New Garage Door, Picked for Your House
On a lot of Charlotte homes, the garage door takes up a third of what you see from the street. Change it and the whole house looks different. Pick the wrong one and you notice it every time you pull in the driveway.
We install new residential garage doors from Amarr and other trusted brands. We’ll come out, measure the opening, look at the style of your house, and walk you through the options that actually fit it. No catalog dumps, and no pressure to decide on the spot.
If you’re trying to decide whether to fix your current door or replace it, start with our garage door replacement page. It covers the signs it’s time and when a repair still makes sense. This page is about choosing and installing the new one.

Garage Door Styles That Suit Charlotte Homes
Most of what we install falls into three looks. Bring us a photo of your house, or we’ll look at it when we measure, and we’ll tell you honestly which one works.
Raised panel. The classic look with rectangular panels pressed into the steel. It fits almost any brick or siding home, which is why you see it on so many Charlotte streets. Short panels look more traditional, long panels a little cleaner.
Carriage house. Designed to look like old swing-out barn doors, usually with windows across the top and decorative handles and hinges. It’s what most people pick when they want the house to stand out.
Flush and modern. Smooth or lightly grooved panels, often in black, gray or a woodgrain finish, sometimes with long windows. It suits newer builds and homes with a more modern exterior.
Windows are an option on all three. They let light into the garage, but they also let people see in, so think about what you keep in there.
Steel, Woodgrain, and Insulated Doors

Steel and Woodgrain Steel
Most new doors are steel. It's strong, low maintenance and holds paint well. If you love the look of wood but not the upkeep, woodgrain finish steel gets you close without the sanding and staining every few years.

Insulated Doors
An insulated door has a layer of foam inside the steel. It makes the door stiffer and quieter, and it keeps an attached garage more comfortable in a Charlotte summer. Worth it if you work, work out or store anything heat sensitive in there.

From Order to Install Day
Some doors are in stock and can go in within days. Others are made to order in a specific size, color or window style, and those take longer. We’ll tell you the timeline up front when you order, so you’re not left wondering.
“It was about 8 weeks between ordering and install, which Adam had shared with us up front. Installation went great and in no time we were up and running.”
Skipper P., Google review
On install day we take down the old door and hardware, install new tracks and springs sized for the weight of the new door, hang the sections, and set it up with your opener. Then we balance it, test the safety reverse, and show you how it all works. We don’t leave until it runs right.

Why Charlotte Homeowners Choose Rise Up for New Doors
Rise Up is a family-owned company, started by Adam Piana in 2016. Adam spent more than 35 years in home services, including years as a locksmith, and he built the company around one idea: you should know exactly what you’re buying and why.
That means we’ll steer you away from features you won’t use, tell you plainly when an in-stock door will look just as good as a special order, and quote the whole job before anything is ordered. We’re licensed, bonded and insured in North Carolina, BBB A+ rated, LiftMaster Certified, and a Nextdoor Neighborhood Favorite.

Rise up was quick to respond and prompt with service. From the start Adam was kind, explained everything to me thoroughly, and was upfront about the pricing. I accidentally ran into my garage door and cracked the frame. He reinforced it in less than 30 mins and had it working like it was brand new! I am so thankful to him! They are very affordable as well and I will recommend them to all. Very happy with my service!Posted on Google![]()

Adam was very responsive when I asked him to come to my home to give me an estimate. Once I decided to go with him, her was able to do the work with in a week. Repaired/finished the install on an old Genie opener that had been under for 15 year. Installed a new Liftmaster opener on the 2nd door. Replaced all the wheels on both doors. Excellent work. Reasonable prices.Posted on Google![]()

I recently had the pleasure of working with Rise Up Garage Doors, and I couldn't be more satisfied with their service and the quality of the motor that was installed. From start to finish, the entire process was seamless and efficient. Adam was incredibly responsive, and quick to tend to our issue. He was punctual, professional and well prepared. He assessed the issue with my garage door swiftly and provided a clear explanation of the necessary repairs. We ended up needing a new motor as our was about 20+ years old and in bad shape to where our door wasn't opening any longer. He made sure we were fully informed about the work being done and the costs involved, which were very reasonable. The new motor is wonderful, we can barely hear the door open/close with all the key updates we needed. Overall, I highly recommend Rise Up Garage Doors for anyone in need of garage door services. Their fast, efficient, and professional approach sets them apart from the rest.Posted on Google![]()

Keeping a New Door Working Like New
A new door should give you years of quiet, trouble-free use, and a few minutes twice a year helps it get there.
- Spray the springs, hinges and rollers with a garage door lubricant in the spring and fall. Skip WD-40, it’s a cleaner, not a lubricant.
- Wash the door with mild soap and water a couple of times a year, especially the bottom section where red clay and lawn clippings collect.
- Check the bottom seal each fall. If you see daylight under the closed door, it’s time for a new one.
- Once a month, close the door on a roll of paper towels. It should reverse as soon as it touches. If it doesn’t, call us.
If something feels off, like a new noise or the door drifting when you stop it halfway, call us early. Small adjustments are a lot cheaper than the repairs they prevent.
Garage Door Installation FAQs
How long does it take to get a new garage door?
In-stock doors can often go in within days. Doors made to order in a certain size, color or window style take longer, sometimes several weeks. We’ll give you the timeline when you order.
Is an insulated garage door worth it?
For an attached garage, usually yes. Insulated doors are quieter and stiffer, and they help keep the garage more comfortable in the summer. For a detached shed-style garage it matters less.
Which style looks best on my house?
Raised panel suits most brick and siding homes, carriage house adds curb appeal, and flush or modern doors suit newer builds. We’ll look at your house when we measure and give you an honest opinion.
Do I need a new opener with a new door?
Not always. If your opener is in good shape, it can usually stay. If it’s old or loud, installing both at once saves a second visit.
What brands do you install?
We install Amarr and other trusted brands, and we’re LiftMaster Certified for openers.
Do you give free estimates on new doors?
Yes. We’ll measure, go over options, and give you a quote with no pressure.
