Is It the Opener or the Door?
When a garage door stops working, most people blame the opener. Sometimes they’re right. But a lot of what we see in Indian Trail is the door itself causing the problem, and the opener just gives up trying to move it.
Here’s an easy way to tell. Pull the red emergency release cord with the door closed, then lift the door by hand about halfway and let go.
- It lifts easily and stays put: the door is balanced, so the problem is probably the opener, the sensors or the remote.
- It’s heavy, slams down or flies up: the springs are worn, broken or out of adjustment. Stop there and call us.
- It sticks, scrapes or one side drags: look for a bent track, a worn roller or a loose hinge.
Don’t do this test if you can see a broken spring or a loose cable. Leave the door closed and call.

Getting a Loud Garage Door Quiet Again
If your garage is under a bedroom or next to the living room, you know every squeal and rattle. A loud door is usually a maintenance problem, not a broken one, and it’s usually a quick fix.
The usual fixes are worn steel rollers swapped for quieter nylon ones, loose hinges tightened, dry parts lubricated, and the track lined up so the rollers aren’t rubbing. On a chain-drive opener, a slack chain slapping the rail is another common culprit.
“My door would sometimes open after i tried to close it. Rise Up quickly adjusted the sensors and replaced the rollers on the door to smooth it out and cut down on noise.”
Allan W., Google review
If the noise is new and sudden, especially a pop or a grind, that’s different. Have it looked at before something gives.

Replacing a Garage Door in an HOA Neighborhood
If your neighborhood has an HOA, the garage door is one of the first things they’ll care about. It’s the biggest single thing on the front of most homes.
Here’s how we help keep it simple:
- We’ll measure and give you the exact make, model, color and window option, so you have what the HOA needs for approval.
- If your neighbors’ doors all match, tell us. We can usually find the same or a close style.
- We don’t order anything until you’re ready, so you’re not stuck with a door your HOA turns down.
Want to see what we install? Take a look at our new garage door installation page, or call and we’ll bring options to you.

Started Over a Spring Replacement
Adam started Rise Up in 2016 after his mother was taken advantage of during a garage door spring replacement. He’d already spent decades in home services, including work as a locksmith, and he knew homeowners deserved a straight answer.
That’s still the whole idea. We show you what’s wrong, give you the price first, and back new residential torsion springs with a 12-month warranty and all of our work with a satisfaction guarantee.
“He was honest and didnt recommend anything unnecessary”

Rise up was quick to respond and prompt with service. From the start Adam was kind, explained everything to me thoroughly, and was upfront about the pricing. I accidentally ran into my garage door and cracked the frame. He reinforced it in less than 30 mins and had it working like it was brand new! I am so thankful to him! They are very affordable as well and I will recommend them to all. Very happy with my service!Posted on Google![]()

Adam was very responsive when I asked him to come to my home to give me an estimate. Once I decided to go with him, her was able to do the work with in a week. Repaired/finished the install on an old Genie opener that had been under for 15 year. Installed a new Liftmaster opener on the 2nd door. Replaced all the wheels on both doors. Excellent work. Reasonable prices.Posted on Google![]()

I recently had the pleasure of working with Rise Up Garage Doors, and I couldn't be more satisfied with their service and the quality of the motor that was installed. From start to finish, the entire process was seamless and efficient. Adam was incredibly responsive, and quick to tend to our issue. He was punctual, professional and well prepared. He assessed the issue with my garage door swiftly and provided a clear explanation of the necessary repairs. We ended up needing a new motor as our was about 20+ years old and in bad shape to where our door wasn't opening any longer. He made sure we were fully informed about the work being done and the costs involved, which were very reasonable. The new motor is wonderful, we can barely hear the door open/close with all the key updates we needed. Overall, I highly recommend Rise Up Garage Doors for anyone in need of garage door services. Their fast, efficient, and professional approach sets them apart from the rest.Posted on Google![]()

Indian Trail Garage Door Questions
How soon can you get to Indian Trail?
We’re a short drive away in Mint Hill. A lot of calls get handled the same day or the next morning, depending on the schedule. Call and we’ll give you a real time window.
Why does my garage door reverse right before it closes?
Most of the time it’s the safety sensors near the floor. They get bumped, dirty or knocked out of line. Wipe the lenses and check that both lights are solid. If that doesn’t fix it, the door may be binding or the close force may need adjusting, and that’s when to call us.
My door is really loud. Does that mean something is broken?
Not always. Worn rollers, dry hinges and loose hardware are the usual causes, and they’re cheap to fix. But grinding, popping or a new bang can mean a spring or cable problem, so don’t ignore it.
Will a new garage door meet my HOA rules?
We can give you the exact style, color and window options before you order so you can get approval first. It’s much easier than finding out after the door is installed.
Do you work on openers other than LiftMaster?
Yes. We’re LiftMaster Certified, but we repair Chamberlain, Genie, Craftsman and most other residential brands too.
Do you warranty your work?
New residential torsion springs come with a 12-month warranty, and all our work is backed by a satisfaction guarantee.
